Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP)
For more information, see BCCTP on MassResources.org.
What is the Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP)?
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program is a health insurance program for women in need of treatment for breast or cervical cancer. The BCCTP offers MassHealth Standard coverage to certain women under 65 who do not otherwise qualify for MassHealth.
Am I eligible?
The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program is for women under age 65 who need treatment for breast or cervical cancer and do not have insurance that will pay for it. Household income must be no more than 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Women must also meet MassHealth Standard residency and immigration status requirements. See MassHealth Standard on MassResources.org for details.
What benefits will I get?
You will get MassHealth Standard insurance coverage as long as you remain in cancer treatment. This coverage includes comprehensive medical care, not just cancer treatment. There is no monthly premium for BCCTP participants with incomes at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Those with incomes between 150% and 250% of the FPG must pay a monthly premium, based on income. See MassHealth Financial Eligibility Requirements for income guidelines.
How do I apply?
Call the Women's Health Network (WHN) toll-free at 1-877-414-4447 (TTY 617-624-5992) to find an enrollment site in your community. Then call your local site to set up an appointment. Your Women's Health Network case manager will send your enrollment form to MassHealth. You will also need a Treatment Certification form from your doctor, estimating the length of your cancer treatment.
