What is the Veterans' Services program?
Veterans' Services is a program that provides cash and medical assistance to low-income Massachusetts wartime veterans and their families who are in need of immediate help. Veterans' Services also provides referrals to employment, education, housing, substance abuse treatment, and other services to help veterans find a solution to their problems.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for Veterans’ Services if you are a veteran or a dependent of a veteran who served during wartime, you have few resources and little income, and you need financial help. You must be a resident of the city or town in which you apply.
What benefits will I get?
Veterans’ Services provides cash assistance to pay for basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, housing supplies, and medical care. The amount you get depends on your personal situation and needs.
How do I apply?
To apply for Veterans' Services, Worcester veterans must meet with the Veterans' Service Officer at 25 Meade Street, Worcester, MA 01610, telephone 508-799-1041. For more contact information, see Worcester Benefit Office Locations - Veterans' Services.
The Veterans' Service Officer will give you a written application to complete and sign. You should bring all your documentation with you, including your military discharge record, Form DD214.
How do I use my Veterans' Services benefits?
Veterans' Services checks are issued twice monthly, on Mondays. Worcester veterans must pick up their checks at the Veterans' Services office at 25 Meade Street in Worcester.
